Stadium
At the bottom of a hill are to be found the stadium, one of the oldest buildings in
Miletus, the remains of the Temple of Athena, an Ionic monument belonging to the 5th century B.C., and the temple of Eumenes II, King of Pergamon, dating from the 3rd century B.C.
The stadium, 230 m long and 74 m wide, was constructed on a level piece of ground on the foundations of an older building, on the arches of which the seating tiers were placed. Remains dating from the Middle Bronze Age (1600 B.c.) were discovered near the Temple of Athena and the stadium.
