Sacred Way
This street was 100 m long and 28
m wide (not including the pavements). The paving stones were very probably
repaired during the reign of Trajan. On the left there is an Ionic
portico, and behind it the entrance to two buildings rather difficult of
access. The first is the Capito Baths dated to the 1st century, while the
second, which stands on the north, is a gymnasium with five sections, one
section being devoted to study. (2nd century B.C.)
