Roman Baths
These baths date from the 1st century B.C. The building contains a palaestra (an open space for athletic exercises and physical training) and five large rooms arranged around a spacious courtyard. There are also a number of other rooms. A little to the south there is a Byzantine church adjoining what is generally thought to be a bishop's palace. There is also a small structure in which mosaics and a few marble fragments are preserved. A little further on one arrives at the religious centre of the city.
