North Agora
This is located on the road
leading from the South Agora to the Lion Harbour which, in ancient times,
had been surrounded by a colonnade. It underwent repairs and renovation in
the Hellenistic and Roman periods. In the classical period a market-place
surrounded by shops and the Temple of Dionysus was located just behind it.
This was later enlarged. As you make your way forward on the southern side
you will come face to face with the remains of a monumental fourtain.
